This bizarre trend for “e-books” is puzzling. All an “e-book” does is display a file for reading – how on EARTH is that worth spending £229 on having a separate gadget for doing? There’s going to be a LOT of disappointed dads this Christmas, when they open that exciting box-shaped present to discover a bloody e-reader inside it.
So cut out the “e-book” middleman with Issuu Mobile, a free “e-book” reader for Google Android phones. That way, when this idiotic e-reader trend dies next year, you won’t have wasted so much money.
Anything that helps speed the demise of ridiculously unnecessary and expensive products like the Sony Reader is OK by us, even though you’d be much better off spending an afternoon rummaging through secondhand books in your local charity shop if you’re THAT desperate to read things.
Issuu Mobile is better than we’re making out, obviously – we’re just exaggerating and being mean for effect. Issuu lets you access its archive of “over one million” digital publications, including exciting things like local newspapers and fashionable magazines. Everyone likes a nice magazine.
