Blimey, that was quick. Some photos appeared on (the Google-owned, hmmm…) photo sharing site Picasa over the weekend, taken by a camera that calls itself the… Nexus One.
The 5megapixel shots look pretty decent for a camera phone, while the EXIF data recorded within the digital image files confirms both the camera name and the geo-tagged location data – which tells us the shots were taken within Google’s “Googleplex” (office) itself.
We are now 200% certain that Google is “leaking” all this Nexus One business on purpose, as a particularly fine “viral” campaign. If Google wanted to keep this phone a secret, it’d have the phone report to be something anonymous, not have it screaming HELLO I AM THE NEW GOOGLE PHONE to every geek on the internet.
That’s a decent quality photo. Expect to see this man interviewed on the internet today, as people ask him “What did it FEEL LIKE having your photo taken by the Google Nexus One? What was its SHUTTER SOUND like?”
Google-branding in a so-called “leaked” photo? Pull the other one, Google. You’re doing all this for a laugh. And it has WORKED.

That’s the EXIF data from one of Sandor’s photos on Picasa . Sandor’s making gnocchi while someone takes photos of him on an HTC Nexus One. Other photos found by and borrowed from Android Guys.
