Motorola Milestone in ludicrous "better than iPhone" sales claim

This is insane. Online mobile shop Expansys, which secured the UK exclusive release of the Motorola Milestone due to none of the main operators wanting to touch the pig-ugly brick-thing (see below), is claiming to have sold more Milestones in its launch period than it managed iPhones.

The catch? Expansys told Pocket Lint it took pre-orders for slightly more than 1000 Milestones. That’s ONE thousand. So it sold more than 1000 Milestones and less than 2000 Milestones. That’s not exactly BIG BUSINESS on a national basis, is it? Here’s the quote.

“Within 3 hours of the product being listed as ‘in stock’ on the eXpansys site it sold out. This makes the Motorola Milestone the fastest selling gadget in the website’s 11 year history, even more successful than the iPhone”

We think what Expansys means is it did a very shit job of selling iPhones, because iPhones were available in other places.

No idea why, but we have a CRAZED and totally irrational hatred of the Motorola Milestone, as has probably become apparent through reading this update. It may well run Android, but we won’t be happy until the Milestone stops blighting the Android phone scene.

The Milestone is only currently available online via Expansys. And Expansys currently has 90 in stock, so you can watch the thing sell LIVE throughout the day. Won’t that be exciting? That is actually how we will be spending today.
