I Tweet, which parts of the Android community refer to as I Twitter (we assume Twitter got in touch about the latter), is cute, but not a patch on Swift or Twidroid. Its one unique feature is the way it pops up recent Tweets in the Android phone’s Notifications area, giving you a handy shortcut to fire up the App and start reading as soon as you wake up and reach for the phone to start wasting your day.
It suffers from a few basic formatting errors on its timeline, making some Twitter icons massive and pushing the text out to the far side of the screen. That last thing you want is already hard-to-read text being made even harder to read.
Otherwise we, as a nation, will all go blind from squinting at Android phone screens.
The user interface boasts a nice Twitter-esque blue & white scheme, letting you search tweets and read the latest trending topic lists, also giving users the option to select the number of Tweets that show up in the timeline so you don’t have to load a whole day’s worth if you’ve been busy. But that’s all.
It’s rather dull. As such, we’re plucking the review score 5/10 out of the air. This “Best” part of this series didn’t last long, did it?
UPDATE FOR CLARITY:
We reviewed “I Tweet” here, which is developed by Green Code. The Android Market lists it as “I Tweet” but the icon on the phone once it’s installed calls it “I Twitter”. It’s almost as if the makers didn’t know what to call it themselves.
This is not to be confused with the “I Tweet!” developed by Multiple Facets. Those two developers need to have a power meeting and sort that name-clash nonsense out.
