We’ve tried most of the Twitter Apps, and Swift is best. That’s it. That’s the review right there. If you came here for the review, you can go already.
Swift isn’t the most feature-packed of the many Android phone Twitter enablers out there, but it is the fastest – both to load and navigate – and speed is what you want when sneakily checking your Tweets under the desk to pass the time in a dull meeting.
You have to ask what you want from a mobile Twitter App. Chances are you’ll just use it to read messages and post the occasional status update – so features like URL-shortening and sharing photos are unnecessary luxuries you’d never use anyway.
Much as we love Android, fiddling about shortening and forwarding links in Twitter is something best left until the next time you’re at home on your proper computer, it’s simply still too awkward a thing to do on a tiny touch-screen. For a fast, read-only Twitter fix, Swift is best.
