Android Apps. Very exciting for the first couple of days you own your phone. You install the Facebook App, the Twitter App, a different Twitter App to see if it’s better, a couple of fancy digital clocks… then what?
Then nothing. The novelty of paging and paging through pages and pages of (pages of) things no one needs quickly wears off, with most Android users Eurodroid has spoken to claiming to have “about four or five” custom Apps on their phone and no more.
You find Apps you like, you stick with them. We really don’t need an endless avalanche of new Apps doing the same old tasks. Industry sources are already complaining that Apple has too many Apps on its App Store, and the Android Market is similarly at saturation point.
We need fewer Apps. Better Apps. A search engine that works properly and the option to search via review scores – we certainly only bother downloading Apps that good user feedback scores.
Sort it out, Google. The Marketplace is too big. And there’s too much rubbish. People are too stupid to be given such high levels of control! Spoon-feed us the good ones and leave the poor Apps to die.

/ December 4, 2009I totally agree, and may I say what a vibrant community you seem to have here, what with you and you pretending to be me.
